This variable
HV power supply is made with a TV Fly Back Transformer,
giving a pulsed High Voltage (about 15 to 20 Khz).
The circuit is based on the one give
by Jean Louis Naudin at:
http://jlnlabs.imars.com/lifters/labhvps/indexfr.htm.
It has however some improvements (type of transistor and potentiometer,
circuit organization, heaters). A 1 Ghoms resistance has been added, with
a needle voltage display (in fact an ampmeter, but the result is the same).
Design and ergonomics have been studied specially for experiments in
electrokinetics.
Transdimensional
Technologies (no more website) was at the origin of
the first Lifter demonstrating the Bieffeld-Brown effect
in June 2001 : a system made of two electrodes charged
at high voltage moves in the direction of the energy gradient.
The Lifter from Transdimensional Technologies was
based on the patent 2.949.550 from Thomas Townsend Brown
(see here).
Jean Louis Naudin (France) made a successful replication
in October 2001 and contributed largely to spread this
knowledge among the nations. Various tests with ordinary
High Voltage machines (Whimshurst, van de Graaf) gave only
weak results with suspended condensers, because of the
too low intensity of the currents (microamps). But with
the FBT power supplies, the effect has been fully revealed.
The push from the electrode system is enough strong to
lift itself. Various tests show that a big lifter (250g)
was able to lift a 60g payload, and the record was 100g
in July 2006 (Saviour at http://www.blazelabs.com/).
Now the proportional power to make move upward a lifter
is still higher than the one to lift an helicopter. The
system is not yet profitable energetically speaking, until
we understand perhaps more what happens and how to increase
the effect.
The
Fohat-1 has been made to experiment with the Lifters but
may be useful for other experiments involving more potent
high voltage than what we can obtain with the ordinary electrostatic
machines.
Warning !
Building
such a HV supply is your own responsibility. It
is only designed for people who are skilled in electronics.
High Voltage experiments
are dangerous, and may hurt you, or even cause death to people
using pacemakers, or having heart disease or any other heart
weakness. If you know only few things about high voltage
or electricity, and electronics, please ask for the help
of a more skilled person. Be extremely careful. Though the
lifters seems to be a very funny game, they are not! Consider
it as real scientific experiments, and be as serious as you
can to protect yourself and others in your house or "laboratory".
Take care particularly of the children who could try to replicate
your experiments when you're not at home. If you build a
HV power supply, the risk of any results is just yours. I
take no responsibility of anything that might happen.
We
sell this pack to make experimentation easier, and to avoid
you the tiresome research of the various components. You
will save time and posses a professional looking power
supply. The pack includes the printed circuit, the electronic
components to solder, the case and the front panel already
drawn and cut, a High Voltage cable (1m25), a 0v cable
with a crocodile clip, a discharge wand, a super-resistance
(1Gohm), a numerical luminous voltmeter, assembly instruction
for the supply and a basic Lifter.
As the plans of this device were given
freely on the internet, its price is very low regarding the ones from professional
providers.
The
profit is
designed to support the
Research Center. It is a fixed rate corresponding
to the needed time to prepare the various parts of the pack: printed circuit,
front panel, super-resistance,
special cables, discharge wand, etc.
